Macquarie Project by Pohio Adams

There are projects where hardware quietly completes the room, and then there are projects where it becomes part of the architecture itself. Pohio Adams’ Macquarie Project is firmly the latter.

Our 03 Slim Profile appears throughout the home in a custom Bronze finish with Classic Grey leather, moving from the kitchen and integrated appliances through to the bathrooms and home office. In the kitchen, the custom-length pulls are especially striking: long, slender lines set against warm timber cabinetry, with the pale leather creating a beautiful softness against the darker bronze. It is dramatic without being loud. The scale gives the hardware presence, while the materiality keeps it refined.

The 03 Slim Profile was originally conceived as an appliance pull, but here Pohio Adams has extended it beautifully across cabinetry too. Custom lengths allow the same profile to shift in scale and function, creating a much stronger relationship between the hardware and the architecture around it.

That continuity carries throughout the apartment. The profile repeats, but never mechanically. Length shifts, proportion shifts and function shifts, while the material language remains consistent from room to room.

There is also something particularly satisfying about the level of customisation: custom length, custom Bronze finish, Classic Grey leather. It is custom on custom on custom, yet nothing feels overworked. Every decision feels resolved. For us, that is where custom leather hardware becomes most interesting. Not as an embellishment, but as a way of making a detail feel entirely at home in the project.
